    Love is Strange

This movie is not about gay marriage or LBGT rights or about the rigid rules of an increasingly irrelevant Church, but it is about a gay couple who have been together since Nixon, Watergate and disco. Their love is enduring and this can be seen in the eyes of the veteran actors portraying Ben and George (John Lithgow and Alfred Molina) who belong to a Manhattan arts community and are faced with separation and the trials and tribulations of their newfound status as couch surfers in the homes of friends. The movie is quiet and human interactions are often nuanced and subtle. A triumph of film-making for Ira Sachs (Forty Shades of Gray) Yes it is low key (haters might find it to slow but that's their problem) Give this gem a chance and you may be pleasantly amazed. This film, however, will likely not appeal to the hordes running to the multiplex to view 'Mockingjay'.
