Taking into consideration it's a remake of a modern fairy tale in the spirit of Wicked, a cleansing of the evil image of a cardboard witch by creating a narrative that validates certain traditionally evil behaviour, there is slim pickings here. We get a lot of dramatic facial portraiture of Angelina. Then the usual simple means to alter immense power to allow a protagonist's vulnerability. The sleeping beauty is very sweet and well adjusted about her completely lonely existence and being totally abandoned by both parents at birth. Nothing, apparently, that the appearance of a single handsome face can't compensate for. All grim. Time to grow up.
