The last time Liam Neeson got on a plane in a movie it ended up being one of my favorite films of the year The Grey. That is probably the main reason why I gave Non Stop a chance. After all there's Neeson in semi-Taken mode portraying a troubled Air Marshall and the premise about a series of Agatha Christie type murders on board a plane is certainly a provocative idea. Yet it's fairly standard stuff all and all despite decent tension and a few well placed surprises. Although once the unmasking occurs, the motive behind the whole enterprise not only seems laughable, but also highly derivative of other films, like Live Free or Die Hard. Never boring and keeps you guessing most of the way but nothing special.
