After working as a Disc Jockey for 29 years I was certainly interested in seeing this movie. The reason I left working as a DJ was because of this type of music. Not rap in general, but the type that expresses anger and filth and uses the word "mother" in the worst way. It actually makes me sick. Having said all that, this is a good movie and although I didn't like the street messages in the music, the music was good and had me tapping my foot the whole time I was in the theatre. Too bad this music was not used for some positive rapping instead of a rapping street hero for those with no direction in their lives. The actor who portrays Notorious BIG does an excellent job. So does the director bringing us to a bird's eye of view of the streets of Brooklyn and the record companies and rappers in an industry where they should be celebratiing their similiarities, but instead feud and kill one another perpetuating exactly what they are rapping about.
