In this final act of Joe's tale of excess and degradation the movie takes a turn towards her attempts at redemption through horrifying and not so horrifying forms of "therapy". Does Joe's life represent a sort of female empowerment? Who knows? Perhaps this is a topic for further discussion. These films are definitely not the feel good movies of the year or any year so beware the over-the-top sex and violence!
