A somewhat self-promoting Disney film about the making of a Disney movie (Mary Poppins) That the pairing of Walt Disney -- a man who could sell sand to the Arabs -- with the acerbic, profoundly unlikeable P. L. Travers did produce such a beloved movie was indeed an achievement. Emma Thompson as Travers and Tom Hanks as Disney are uniformly outstanding. However, Hanks with his moustache and his height does not look much like Uncle Walt. Emma Thompson's heartfelt performance is Oscar-worthy.
