The story of a musician that has great music, but for whatever reason, doesn't have commercial success. He drifts into obscurity and commits suicide. The remaining family members recount his life and links to the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. I think it was a good idea not to suggest that the lack of commercial success was attributed to his background and heritage. I can think of a few other artists, during that time-period, that had much success. I think personally that it was as a result of poor management he wasn't commercially successful; this music transcends all cultural boundaries. I think an Oscar for best soundtrack, if it qualifies, will be a given. I, after the movie ended, ran to Sonic Boom at Bloor and Bathurst and bought the soundtrack, amazing!! I can't stop playing it. The surviving family members get a royalty, too!! You absolutely must see this movie, it's unbelievable.

Ummm, yeah, thanks for the newsflash, Einstein. My review was a clever piece of pre-film propaganda meant as a pleasant surprise for those who hadn't seen the film, yet. Thanks for ruining it for anyone that read your reply.
