The Grand Budapest Hotel

As a massive Wes Anderson fan, I must say that The Grand Budapest Hotel is charming, beautiful, hilarious, brilliant, wonderful and utterly amazing. This is easily the best film of 2014 so far and may actually go down as one of my favourite films in recent years. The acting in this film is perfect. Ralph Fiennes was amazing as his role and deserves to be nominated as best actor for next year's Academy Awards. Yep, he's THAT good. The entire supporting cast was spot-on and even the new comers did an excellent job. All of the characters that they played were loveable and I cared about all of them. The story was superb and detailed, with twists and turns along the way. The main thing that I love about this film is the writing. This movie is so funny and well written that I had a huge smile across my face the whole time. The cinematography and scenery are gorgeous and are typical Wes Anderson. It seemed like a fantasy/cartoon world that was wonderfully realized. OVERALL: The Grand Budapest Hotel is my favourite film of 2014 so far and may be one of my favourites in recent years. See it if you love film and Wes Anderson! RATING: 9.9/10.
