It didn't stay in the theatres long but I liked it. It was uneven and slow to start but got stronger as the story moved ahead. I suppose that I had the patience for it. The film is really a vehicle for Steve Carrell, who is a bit wooden in his portayal of an entertainer completely out of touch with reality, but his weaknesses are compensated by other actors. People praised him but Gandolfini was not exactly challenged by his role. I liked the way the film took aim as to how low audiences have really sunk by giving Jim Carrey's character a strong supporting role. The ending was good, made me laugh.
