Well I'd been looking forward to this film for a while now and finally saw it on its last night. My favorite Ryan (sorry Reynolds) combined with the director from Blue Valentine. He also co-wrote and produced the film. The film is unusual in that its two main characters are on screen together for just a minute or two so in that sense it's really two parallel stories. I predicted right from the start that the two toddlers would be intertwined at a later time and I found some plot points a little contrived but nonetheless a success and a risk taken. It's mostly a story of redemption and I really liked it. Good performances all around. Still prefer Blue Valentine.
