The Vatican Tapes had a very short shelf life or it might have gone directly to DVD. Who knows? If it's the same themes and predictability you want, The Vatican Tapes has it in spades. There is absolutely nothing innovative about it at all. As yet another film on demonic possession, you might as well watch The Exorcist over and over again, a decent film on the subject. I had no idea this film was on the possession theme again or I would have skipped it. Everything is according to formula and rules for such a feature. It's totally ridiculous that the same film seems to be made over and over again. This time round Michael Pena is the priest charged with ridding a particularly horrific spirit from the young lady. Why are females always the ones who seem to become possessed? God awful rehash of all the satanic films seen in the past! Don't even rent it or see it on whatever device you use at home!
