Put aside the fact that Al Pacino is a great actor, Rene Russo supports and I suppose Matthew McCauhney does a pretty good job, it doesn't make this drab of a screenplay any better. This movie is obviously made for those who live in that scalper bet on anything world. In other words we don't care about these characters at all. Al Pacino's character wants it all... been there seen it. Rene Russo who used to be a street junkie... sorry, I don't believe it. She looks too good to have been that. Matthew who goes to the big city and then falls flat on his face only to return to his small town simplicity... so what. It pains me greatly to go and see my favourite actor (AL) and have to shake my head every 2 minutes over a nowhere-land movie. I will say that the hustle and bustle of this Sports oriented N. Y. office has edge but in reality this flick falls off the edge in the last half... and what a waste to use Armand Assante in such a two bit role. Are there any writers out there with original screenplays? Heeelllppp!!!
