It was a lot of fun, if viewed strictly as a comedy. Michael Douglass is the perfect Gordon Gecko (it's not even clear he's acting), and the script gave him many zingers. As drama, the drivel about human emotions more or less just gets in the way, and as critique of Wall Street and our bubble economy, the film fails utterly: the main effect I imagine it would have on its viewers would be to increase the desire for a better haircut or suit.
