I've seen the first one in 1993, and I was astonished, not only from the Dinosaurs but from the perfection of the movie, it is very well directed (thanks to Steven Spielberg), you keep thinking after you get out from the theater about how true this can be, and for me, this is the guide of the good movies, the one which keeps you thinking over and over again days after you see them, and this one is that kind. If you didn't see it in 1993, you must watch it now, I guess it will be better on 3D.
