The original horror classic, "The Wolf Man" starring Lon Chaney Jr. is one of the best "Werewolf genre" movies ever made, in fact it is the quintessential werewolf movie. Made by the same studio who made horror movie classics "Frankenstein", "Dracula" and "The Mummy". The transformation scene is pretty good special effects for a movie made in 1941. Filmed in black and white this "Noire" classic still holds up today. With good production values and better than average acting by a great supporting cast featuring British actor Claude Raines in one of his most memorable roles. Maria Ouspenskaya as the weird gypsy woman, Bela Lugosi and Ralph Bellamy round out this excellent cast of characters. Although "The Wolf Man" is very short running at just 70 minutes it is very satisfying. A must see for the classic horror movie fan.
