The title "A Walk in the Woods" sounds much like taking a stroll down the lane, but they are worlds apart. This movie didn't work very well for me as it seemed all too unreal though I realize who Bill Bryson is and what he has accomplished. The acting isn't half bad. I must admit Redford and Nolte have their acting chops very firmly in place. What I don't by is that anyone in the physical condition of Nolte would even dare attempt such an adventure though the reasons are laid out pretty clearly. So far it seems that only the older folk really liked this film or meant anything to them. I can't go below a five as the actors are great ones but the film itself is quite another matter. Too bad this feature is going to bomb out for anyone under 40.
