Riveting but difficult documentary on the troubled singer. I must admit, I was not overly familiar with this artists' music with the exception of the "Rehab" song, and of course I was familiar with her ultimate demise, but this film, sadly, was like watching a train wreck that went on for ten years. I felt overwhelming sadness when I left the theatre. Amy's story is not unusual. There are millions of addicts and their families who struggle with these demons daily. Amy, was undoubtedly a gifted musician who was vulnerable and surrounded by users, including her father. I understand why he did not want the film released as he was not shown in a positive light. Well worth watching.
