    An Unmarried Woman

    Reviewed by

A man finally tells his wife that it's over after 17 years of marriage. This is nothing new in the way of plot, but what makes it so intriguing is that it's a total product of its time, the late 1970's with all the bluster that goes along with that era. Jill Clayburgh is extraordinary as the victim/wife but her tragedy spurns her on to a new psyche and life that is totally different to her. A good view of women at the time. Miss Clayburgh received a well deserved Oscar Nomination for this performance.
