Drop dead funny adaptation of the great Broadway hit about two little old ladies who do in their bachelor male lodgers as a form of courtesy to them. Cary Grant is the star with Priscilla Lane as the love interest. This Frank Capra film is a comedy with some thrills. Not enough attention was paid to Josephine Hull and Jean Adair, the two leading old women, given, no better than 3rd billing for Arsenic and Old Lace. In essence, the film fits neatly into the screwball comedy genre though the film was made in 1942 yett not released until 1944. It's a favourite play for H. S.'s and Colleges to mount.
