So, this is up for best picture. Interesting choice but not deserving of 'The Best' to be seen this year. It is a great date movie. My screening in week 5 was 90%+ full which says something but beyond being a sweet love story, it did not offer much. Saoirse Ronan played her role well but given recent Best Actress winners, she is not deserving of her nomination. Her love interest, Mr. Gleeson was also good, probably a bit better in showing ranges of emotion. It was more interesting for me as a historical piece for the lives of immigrants in 1950's USA / N. A. - thx for the picture into 65 years ago... a much simpler time indeed.
