I was super pumped to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Even though Captain America was my least favourite of all the Avengers and I didn't love the first movie, I was very excited to see my favourite comic book storyline adapted to film. Well, I could say that this is tied with Iron Man as the best stand alone Marvel film! The acting was on par with all of the other films in the Marvel cinematic universe. Chris Evans did a great job as Captain America as always. Scarlet Johanson and Samuel L. Jackson also did fantastic jobs reprising their roles. Robert Redford, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan all did perfect jobs as their characters, especially Sebastian Stan. He played The Winter Soldier super well and made him to be the second coolest Marvel villain (second to Loki, of course) The story was very well handled, with some pretty great plot twists and suspenseful moments. The comedic scenes were very funny and light hearted to even out the darker scenes. There was a ton of well filmed action sequences and a variety of awesome fights. It was surprisingly well written and had some very funny one-liners. The Russo brothers did an excellent job directing. The political aspects of the movie were perfectly handled and I was really enthralled in the whole film. The two-and-a-half hour run-time passed by very quickly. OVERALL: Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a fantastic comic-book adaptation that is one of Marvel's best. See it if you enjoy Marvel movies and political thrillers. RATING: 9.25/10.
