Noel Coward's stage hit is given superior treatment in this Oscar winning adaptation. Clive Brook and Oscar Nominated Diana Wynyard head an upper class British family at the turn of the century. The film follows their lives through WW I and into the thirties. Wynyard's performance seems somewhat dated, but the film does not. First rate production values and an engrossing story make this one of the classics from its era.
