First time writer/director Patrick Gazé – a name hopefully to contend with in the future – succeeds in delivering, with amazing skill an engrossing, atmospheric movie – with occasional violence and sex scenes, but also with a lot of realism, tenderness, vibrant humanity and mystery. As always, Roy Dupuis’ acting is excellent in subtlety and magnetism, and the rest of the large cast is also very good. Although it's slightly elongated, I enjoyed this movie and I think you will too.
