This movie likely looked much better on paper because in the execution it is as slow moving as the white cloud that wends its way through the Alps near St. Moritz. It is chock-a-block with endless talk, talk, talk... Kristin Stewart as Valentine mumbles her way through her part and is less than inspiring. Chloe Grace Moretz as the Lindsay Lohan type actress who is frequent tabloid fodder presents an actress in danger of becoming as self absorbed as the much older Maria Enders (Binoche) Although the film's screenplay does its job in presenting a look into the lives of those who must endure the trappings of fame and the inevitability of aging, the story did not move me at all. The metaphor of the short-lived clouds is obvious; it refers to the brevity of our lives. On the plus side the cinematography is peerless. However, the characters were unlikeable and at times the movie is bit of a tough slog to sit through.
