    Corbo

How and why does a teenager of 18, a quiet gentle soul coming from a 'good family' and one who has most of the things any lucky boy of his age would have, become a member of a radical, revolutionary group? This is the essential question that this film attempts to answer. It is a question very relevant to our own times. In Quebec, in 1966, some felt that more 'radical action' rather than 'useless talk' was what was needed to change what they perceived to be an unfair society. Corbo is this story. It is gripping movie based on historical facts. I would recommend it to anyone trying to understand these complex issues. Anthony Therrien in the title role is a mesmerisingly fine actor. The only thing I didn't like was the jerky camera movement that was sometimes used when following a person. After all, wasn't the Stedicam tool invented in Canada around 1975?
