While Quebec history is huge interest of mine I didn't get much of it here. The characters were weakly connected to the supposed theme and came across as nothing beyond a bunch of crazy kids aimlessly devoted to a series of random acts. A disappointment and a fail.

Yes, they were a bunch of crazy kids doing what kids do when they see a cause before their eyes. This is all in the earliest of days before the FLQ and all the disaster that ensued. The film did its job in showing the movement's humble origins. I was moved, particularly because the material is factual! I think you missed the whole point of the film!
