    Deception

Though frightfully melodramatic, this tale of an up and coming pianist and the two men in her life kept me glued from start to finish. It was Bette Davis's return to Warner Brothers after she had given birth to her first child. Sure there are signs that Bette is no longer the ingenue, but tempestuous Miss Davis can make anything interesting. This 'ménage a trois' film noir with huge splashes of classical music is a humdinger. As with all film noir, the B & W cinematography is exceptional.
