Eddie the Eagle

Very feel good movie. Taron portrayed Eddie sensationally. I was interested by the fact that in the summer of 1987 I was in Calgary for a Canadian fastball championships. We were taken to Olympic Park to see the facilities that were not 100% finished. We were shown up close the luge and bobsled runs. We also got to go to the top of the ski-jump venue. It was a scary feeling just standing up there without any thoughts of travelling down the ramp. The one issue I had with the movie was watching the Finn and Eddie going up the elevator to the top. Our guide told us that ski jumpers were superstitious and would climb to the top on their own. Their thinking being that if they get help going up they will not get help going down.
