If you're looking for heroes in this movie there aren't any, which is unusual because there always is at least one that sort of saves it somewhere. So subtract that and what do you have? A pretty brilliant script, brilliantly played, with brilliant twists and turns that keep us wondering till the end, which is darn freaky if you ask me, the end that is. Not since basic instinct has such a psychopathic individual been thrown out there for all of society to cringe from. Chills and more chills. Not just because of the intrigue around the disappearance but also because of the very realistic play on media coverage for this day and age and how easy, effortless and self-serving it can be to manipulate the collective human mind. From zero to hero in the time it takes for a brief tv report and back to zero in the blink of an eye. Pretty shocking. I believe Rosamund Pike will be nominated for an Oscar for her performance in this role, as well as other prestigious awards I'm sure. Worth the watch, I sure felt I got my money's worth.
