I was looking forward to the movie as so many of my friends had read (and loved) the book. I was very disappointed. The first hour could have been condensed into 20 minutes, which would have moved the movie along nicely. Unfortunately, by the end of the first hour, not only was I bored but had already guessed the scenerio. One of the earlier comments was related to Rosamund Pike (who was great), being released from the hospital without being cleaned up. Can't understand how they could have missed the absurdity of that. Perhaps I had missed something, but how could she be pregnant. When did she sleep with her husband, or was it NPH baby? Towards the end, there was a feeble attempt at being humourous, which didn't work. Wait until on DVD.

Click here to show this comment. She was pregnant because she kept the sperm sample from the fertility clinic. This was explained when Nick questioned her about having thrown out the notice from the clinic advising that the sample would be destroyed and she told him that yes, she did throw out the notice - but not the sample.
