Click here to show this review. "Did we win?" Those words in the movie Goon epitomized the lead character. The actor portrayed a “dumb” guy who: followed simple truths, was honest to a fault, and was profoundly loyal. For anyone involved in team sports this movie will touch you. Put all the fights and blood (&Teeth) aside for a moment. Doug’s simple personality and beliefs pull everyone together—Team comes first! There are some tender stories that run throughout this flick and they are all held together with a thread of love, by Doug ‘The Thug’ Glatt. I marveled at the lead character’s performance as I have seen him in several other movies and he is usually a fast-talking smart@ss, as in Cop Out. In this role he was quite convincing. A few people will not enjoy the graphic nature but this is made clear in all the previews and the title itself. So you guys go see the Lorax. As an action movie we all know the storyline before we get to our seats. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Even ex-NHLer Mr. George Laraque even makes a cameo appearance/fight.
