W.O.W!!! I did not expect to be blown away by a movie. I just came back home, and I'm still in awe. This is a long (although it didn't feel long at all for me) sci-fi / fantasy movie. I can easily say it is amongst the best movies I have seen in my life, and I have seen a lot, going from black and white, to japanese, german, french, you name it, I've probably seen it. I don't quite understand people giving this movie a rating of one or two. Some state the scientific aspects are wrong, other say it's boring, some speculate you only hear mumbling throughout the movie. I disagree. The acting was great. This is going to be really hard to describe the movie without giving away too many details. The movie is so splendid, it didn't feel like a movie at all. It felt as if I was there, kind of like the feeling you get from a theater play or a musical. You go through a range of emotions throughout the film, and yes, I did shed a few tears. This is not some violent sci-fi flick. The great thing about it? It did not feel american at all. Beautiful scenery, planets, space and time bending, sadness, relief, death, despair, hope... this movie has it all. I don't think this movie is going to please everybody. If you enjoyed 2001, if you like sci-fi and fantasy, if you've seen quite a lot of répertoire movies, this is the movie to see.
