The posters and promotions lead one to believe that this is a Brigitte Bardot show-all film. Not true. The beautiful Ms. Bardot is part of a fine ensemble cast in this film of love gone awry. Godard convinced Fritz Lang, director of the classics 'Metropolis', and 'M', to play a fictional film director here under his own name... Filmed in part on Capri, the settings are sumptuous. A cerebral film, there are many references to various Arts, and Homer's Odyssey almost seems like a character itself. For me, the only negative was the sound track. This may have been due to the quality of the tape, rather than the music.
