    Listen to Me Marlon

Marlon Brando may well be pleased by this visual bio of his life as it was taken from his own musings and recorded for posterity on both cassette and film. Then again, he may not. Brando didn't have a high regard for the honesty and capability of many in this world, most particularly movie directors in his own field. He believed that the editing process was often butchered and most of the truly relevant scenes were left on the cutting room floor.

Stevan Riley took on the project of writing, directing and editing the film, and reduced the many hours of source material down to 90 minutes including media shots and movie scenes, so it is likely that Brando would have been displeased somewhere.

Regardless, Riley has put together a film that makes the man who could have come from the same mold as the Greek God Adonis appear as human as you or me. It covers his early influences and mentors, Hollywood's reaction to his talents, touches on his effect on women and his relationships, his own particular joys and tragedies, and his profession. Brando was seen as either misunderstood or impossible to understand, probably due to his ability to wax and wane between charisma and rage. He believed that we all were actors.

A fine look at a man who has been called the greatest actor of all time.
