This movie is dumb. I mean... really dumb. But I guess in a way, that's exactly what it's going for - and by this metric, Mad Max: Fury Road hits it out of the park!
The visuals are pretty unique, and the action and explosions are fairly entertaining and less redundant than your typical superhero movie. I had no idea there were so many ways to kill or be killed on or around vehicles.
My favourite aspect of Mad Max is that it didn't bother to waste time, or insult the audience, by explaining every tiny detail of the story. It doesn't matter that we're not told what certain creatures are or why a character acts a certain way - the essential concepts of the movie become clear with a little thought and imagination. The film doesn't cater to the lowest-common-denominator or spoon feed the audience the most blase tropes like the vast majority of blockbusters.
If you want to watch a dumb action movie and not feel insulted and bored midway through, this is my recommendation. It's a lot of fun!
