    Michael Collins

Remarkable film by Neil Jordan inspired by the noble Irishmen, Michael Collins (1890-1922) (revolutionary), whose life and dreams, whose words of magnetic passion and whose formidable courage will never be forgotten in the annals of Irish history. It is this man who awoke the Irish people from their slumber and see head on their nation's destiny. The newest DVD set of this 20 year old film will astound with actual footage of the historic Irish Gent. The star power is mighty indeed with a superb, young Liam Neeson, Julia Roberts, Aiden Quinn, Ian Hart and Richard Ingram. Special mention is held for brilliant D P Chris Menges who seems to never have photographed a bad film.
