Certainly not for kids, there are some pretty gruesome and horrific scenes. Tim Burton signature movie for sure. I found it to be dark and disturbing and were it not for the love of Miss Peregrine for the children and their love and respect among themselves, as well as the bravery of the young boy, I would have come out of the movie wondering why I was so interested in going in the first place. I guess that if there is a message in the film it's that there's hope for people who don't fit in that they'll find a "family" eventually that will protect them from the outside world. And I would say that regardless of what we have, whether big or small, there will always be situations where we will need to put in efforts to protect what we cherish.
