This franchise has been built around Tom Cruises' particular skills, which are primarily athletic. I imagine most viewers will agree he's in impressive shape for his age -- it's well-known, too, that he does his own stunts, so when a souped up motorbike presents itself we know we're in for a thrill. That might stand for the film itself -- it's enjoyably predictable, and the wry and clever screenplay, with a light irony toward the usual double-crosses and greedy sadists -- that and the energetic cinematology make it an enjoyable ride, deliberately stripped of any credible desire.
