It's difficult to review a movie like this based on its controversial content alone. It's one man's personal interpretation of an event that was fictitious for some and factual for others. One can find it entertaining as fiction, fact or partial (romanticized or dramatized) fact regardless of religious beliefs or non belief. If anything I found it to be an interesting study of how man will eternally be torn between good and evil and will ultimately always have the choice between one or the other with the consequences that each choice delivers. I thought it was well done considering that a lot of the contents are CGI. Crowe is always good in roles such as this, even he wasn't quite at the level he attained in Gladiator. Jennifer Connelly is excellent and so are Anthony Hopkins and Ray Winstone (perfect) The rest of the cast including Emma Watson was so-so. The second half of the movie was too long as it essentially showed tormented beings on the verge of breaking down in loop mode. The movie had its ups and downs, but as a whole, I thought it was good. Not only entertaining but thought provoking as well.
