Those that rely on the Bible for historical accuracy may wallow in shock at the liberties taken in this version of the Noah myth. Even if the myth itself were mildly accurate, one would have to assume there would be social controversy, the Flood was theoretically a reaction to something. And Noah's interpretation of intent. Fine, why not. The idea of 'watchers' protecting Noah is logical; in the form of rock giants, well, that appears to be where the creative juices ran a bit silly, but then aren't most 'large' action movies these days a bit silly, they all suffer from a creative writing vacuum.
