It's kind of hard for me to consider Michael Bay as a director/story teller that can tell a dark and funny story. That being said, the story being told in Pain and Gain was a good one. But when you add in Michael Bay's bubble gum style of shooting and cinematography - you know, the slo mo panting of the hero as the camera circles around and pans up and stops on a heroic pose, the slo mo of first responders all moving in unison with a gigantic American flag in the background. It seems less credible for me. In summary, good story but really cliched and gimmicky cinematography.
