A complex, pretty raw study of a woman in the face of a double loss in life including her equally complex relationship with her best friend at a lakeside retreat while trying to recover from her loss and grief. The film becomes more and more disturbing as the drama plays on as it seems more problems are created than solved. One must play close attention to the story as we are often taken back in flashback without any warning or a sign from the past. Both Elisabeth Moss and Katherine Waterston give amazing, at times frightening performances.
