I fall into the camp of those who feel this plot line was too much of a stretch to be believed and amounted to exploitation of the Holocaust and its victims for entertainment's sake. However, as a study of dementia and its effect on the individual, the family and loved ones, it has a lot of merit. The acting, in particular Christopher Plummer, was outstanding and the story even if unlikely, was well constructed.
