Normally I would say a movie like this is worth seeing for the special effects, but I could not get behind it. The script was so bad... right out of the 1970's "Earthquake" with Charlton Heston. Why does Hollywood feel they have to put in a sub plot about a divorce, dead child, reunite, blah blah blah. Who cares... we want to see a movie about the scientists, reporters, rescue workers, newscasters. Please give the tired divorce/family hour subplots a rest.
