This version of 007 was grittier than its previous films. Fewer gadgets, fewer bombshell ladies, fewer chase scenes-not that there is anything wrong with that. However it did give the feel of, as one reviewer stated "Bourne Identity", any of the Statham movies. The villain in Skyfall took a page from Heath Ledger's joker role and was full of menacing psychopathic cynicism. The pace of the movie was great and there were few lulls. But other than the two main characters the acting was tired even by Judy Dench (M) It is a good night out and my guess is the bigger the screen the better as the background for many of the fight scenes was psych-adellic.
