A good film; as other reviewers have pointed out, a good reboot of the franchise. It was nice to see a Bond film with semi-believable stunts and some character development. But some of the tributes to previous Bond films, such as the resurrection of Bond's old Aston-Martin DB5, seemed contrived. Also, the final confrontation at Skyfall was rather divorced from the rest of the film and was about fifteen minutes too long. Finally, Judi Dench as the aging "M", Naomie Harris as a new more active Eve Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as the new "Q", were all excellent. Javier Bardem was good villain, but -- sorry! -- not really sufficiently "villainous". But my gold standard villain is the late Jack Palance, so maybe my standards are too high.
