    St. Vincent

As others before me have said, this movie was a wonderful surprise! Melissa McCarthy's last movie was a disaster and this movie blessedly redeems her 1000%. She and Bill Murray were perfectly paired in this movie. Jaeden Lieberher (Oliver) was amazing. For his young age, he stood toe to toe with Murray perfectly. Quite an accomplishment for such a young actor. I actually did not even recognize Naomi Watts - she did a fantastic job with her role. Yes, the plot was a bit predictable but it was so well played that it hardly matters. The studio does itself no favors by trying to bill this as a comedy. While it has some genuinely funny moments and a couple of "laugh out loud" moments, the touching story is more important. Do yourself a favor and see this movie - it's one of the few intelligent and thoughtful movies of the year!
