After the collective hearts of Star Wars fans the world over were broken by the mostly reviled newer trilogy, J. J Abrams arrives to the rescue to resuscitate the most famous and beloved franchise the same way he did Star Trek. Is it perfect? No. It could have been longer, darker, and I for one could have used a lot more lightsaber action, but it's more than safe to say that the ghost of the awful prequels has been successfully exorcised with the Force Awakens. It is fast paced and thrilling, with heavy doses of nostalgia sure to bring fans out of their seats with joy. Not to mention some MAJOR narrative surprises which may do just the opposite. If you're an actual Star Wars fan, I don't see how you won't like this film. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll gasp, and you'll be tremendously entertained.
