    Testament of Youth

This movie shows the futility of war as experienced by a young woman whose life plans were put on hold by the war. Her brother and friends, young men really were anxious to fight in the war. Once they were in the actual experience of the war reality set in. The acting was superb as in all British made films. At times it is difficult to watch but to see Vera nursing the German soldiers really brings to mind that war is futile and only brings pain an suffering to all. Vera was a pacifist but she did not stand by and do nothing. I enjoyed the movie and getting to know Vera but those who want action and a nice tied up ending will not.
