I'm always intrigued by the time alteration device. Be it "The Final Countdown", "About Time", "Mr. Destiny" or others.
"The Age of Adaline" has a slightly different angle on it, perhaps most like "Somewhere in Time" from the '80's.
Blake Lively is an inspired choice. She's a handsome woman, in a classic sense, her carriage more mature than her years. Then there's the voice, sultry, a bit mid century, mysterious. Good job.
Michiel Huisman is Ok, the ladies may buy the visuals. I felt an Adaline would have shrugged off too pat, too cute aspect of his bio. Patrick Dempsey maybe, looks a bit more lived in?
Ellen Burstyn convincingly saying "mama" in her scenes, was a bit out there too.
Ford and Baker are old pro's, but I found them going through the motions a bit.
Nice film, well shot, good locations, but similar premise has been done better. Fun escapism, competent, and worth a look, tho'.
